About Toni MacDonald
Toni MacDonald Wells was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and moved to the Windsor\Essex community with her family in 1966. Her mother first introduced her to pen and ink techniques and her first set of drawing & painting tools for her 16th birthday. Toni attended the Fine Arts program at the University of Windsor, majoring in drawing. She spent the first part of her career in graphic design within the publishing industry. The second part of Toni’s career was spent in the field of Human Resources where she worked primarily in development of employability skills. Toni is now developing her reputation as an artist.
In university, Toni developed a fascination for the ink and drawing techniques of artists such as Arthur Rackham and Charles Robinson. Later influences include the bold colour applications of Canadian artists such as Emily Carr and Cecil Youngfox as well as Georgia O’Keefe.
Toni resides in the Windsor Essex Community in Ontario. She is a member of the Walkerville Artist's Co-op, The Windsor Arts Council, and she is a local Area Representational Artist.
